PROMIS: Patient-Related Outcomes Measurement Information Systems
Describes the ongoing efforts of a group of scientists from seven institutions and the
National Institutes of Health who have formed a cooperative network to re-engineer the
clinical research enterprise. This effort (funded under the NIH Roadmap for Medical
Research Initiative) will establish a national resource for accurate and efficient
measurement of patient reported symptoms and other health outcomes in clinical

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Research Network on
Socioeconomic Status and Health "Notebook" Project
Provides information on a variety of psychosocial variables, i.e. anxiety, hostility,
optimism, purpose in life, self-esteem, etc., and their measurement in relation to
socioeconomic status and to health. Also provides supporting bibliographies for tools
that measure these variables.

Provides a description of the services provided by the ONRC for patient-oriented
