The three components of the Developmental Infrastructure are
Faculty Development, Summer Institutes, and Innovative Pilot Research.

The Faculty Development component will
a) provide advanced training in selected topics;
b) fund several junior clinical faculty needing release time for career development
through the Mind-Body Clinical Scholars Program, and
c) fund established investigators from other institutions through the Mind-Body
Visiting Scholars Program.

Summer Institutes will continue to provide training nationally to postdoctoral fellows and
faculty new to mind-body science and health, with alternating institutes on factors leading
to the development of disease and on behavioral interventions preventing the development
of diseases or treating the disease.
. Pilot funds will be made available:
a) to address research questions considered ripe for investigation in novel ways,
but not ready for NIH support; and
b) to provide fiscal support to gather pilot data to support a more mature idea for grant
preparation relevant to achieving the major aims of PMBC.
